Workshop: Data-Informed Decision-Making in Projects

In the era of big data and the ever-increasing flow of information, the use of analytics is now widespread across industries, with data analytics mainly used to help enterprises make better decisions. Project Managers are required to make critical project decisions daily but often do not have sufficient information available to confidently make decisions.

As a result, projects are increasingly falling short of delivering on their promises, requiring therefore more than ever a data-informed approach to decision-making for project delivery and management.

The rapid growth of data comes with various challenges though, which therefore needs consideration of various critical factors for a successful implementation of a data-informed decision-making process in organizations and projects.

Decision-Making & Data

Data is an important element in the decision-making process which however requires appropriate analysis and transformation into information assets that allow decision-makers to better understand the impact that any decision could have. In this workshop, you will learn why and how data is becoming increasingly important for decision-making and why it is a critical and decisive asset for the successful delivery of projects.

Culture

A high-performance decision-making culture is characterized by shared methods, behaviors, and values towards quick and effective decisions for best-possible outcomes. You will learn how a decision-making culture needs to change to support the best use of data and information for effective and reliable decisions towards successful project outcomes.

Adoption

A data-informed decision-making culture requires a thorough understanding, appreciation and awareness of data, information and knowledge. You will learn the steps that need to be taken to gain that understanding, what challenges need to get addressed, and the essential skills to get to a data-informed decision making approach.

Implementation

You will learn how to source and collect relevant project data, gain insights from it, apply those to decision making in projects, and this way significantly improve the quality of decisions and project outcomes.
